Rock Honors - VHI

Is anyone going to watch this tonight?

I typically avoid most music related TV shows, but this one actually has potential. I may give it a go. Especially since my two of my three favorite female rockers will be on it.

Hey B - Thanks for mentioning it - I didn't know!

I'll give it a shot; probably just flip back and forth till I see Ann and Nancy.

Bond, I'm usually the same but I will probably have this on in the background to see my girls. Although I will be seeing them live in July.

Erin, Cool! I am so glad we have music in common.

Bruce, you have great taste.

I was going to ... until I heard that Genesis used their opportunity to play "No Son of Mine."

Gulp.

Now the only reason I'd watch is for Queens of the Stone Age.

I just flipped it on and Josh Homme is singing "Paranoid." Mmmm. I find him so sexy.

David, there always has to be something to ruin it for someone. Bummer.

Becky, that's right - you're way ahead of us out East (I say us, meaning me! LOL)

Even if VH1 was credible, I'd probably still avoid this one. I don't like anything that promote the cult of celebrity and I think these kinda things do. I don't like the idea of the rock n roll hall of fame either. Since it's VH1, I'm sure to avoid it. I once heard Eddie Trunk suggest that Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum should be considered among the greatest songwriters of all time. Idiot.

All the teeth-gnashing and "how dare theys" aside, it wasn't half bad. I could've done without Nickelback playing "Sharp Dressed Man"(Chad Kroeger is getting closer to Scott Stapp status everytime I see him), or Keane(who?) doing Genesis, but ZZ Top and Heart were excellent, IMO. And Gretchen Wilson(no relation) can belt them out almost as good as Ann, plus you can't go wrong with Jerry Cantrell and the boys as her back-up band.
I'm a huge Robin Williams fan, so it was kinda neat seeing him, too. Ozzy... well,,he was Ozzy. 'Nuff said.
