News from 80's Central:


Gleaned a few items from today's edition of "The 80's Nut Newsletter":

Pink Floyd will see their entire studio discography bundled under thetitle Oh By The Way for release as a 16-disc limited edition (only10,000 will be pressed) set on Dec. 4th via Capitol/EMI. Each album(from their 1967 debut, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, up to 1994'sfinal album, The Division Bell,) is a reproduction of the originalvinyl release. Live albums, compilations and rarities sets are notamong the releases in the set.

Lenny Kravitz has sent out the first two singles ("I'll Be Waiting"and "Bring It On") from his upcoming album, Love Revolution, to radiostations.

Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has formed his own trio, MadAnthony Express, which performs some cover songs as well as some 'moreobscure' Van Halen tracks. Anthony has said that the trio (whichfeatures the guitarist and drummer from Sammy Hagar's Wabos) couldpush him to launching his own group or recording project.


A new book entitled The Encyclopaedia Metallica will be released viaChrome Dreams on Nov. 1st. The paperback is compiled from exclusiveinterviews with the band. Meanwhile, the group's new studio album isexpected to be released in February.

too bad the Pink Floyd was not being released as vinyl...those early albums (Piper, Ummagumma) lost their 'feel' when converted to metal discs
