Tonight I'll be watching the Rattle and Hum doco on VH1 Classics.
It was filmed back in 1988.
1988!
The boys have been at it for over 20 years and just keep getting better, imo.
Quote about the film:
Shot largely in black and white, RATTLE AND HUM looks and sounds so good that it might actually convert non-fans

I saw that movie in the theater so many times that year. Beautiful.
Michael, yes. It is.
I really don't understand how anyone could watch this film and not fall in love with the music, and therefore the band. The passion, the energy, the commitment to THE MUSIC is what they are all about. THE MUSIC is a living thing and it uses THEM to come alive.....
Man, he is gorgeous!
I saw that in the theater with Todd, the late great love of my life. I even remember what I was wearing. Underated film and album in my opinion. They got SO MUCH SHIT for that it is not even funny. That album gave us All I Want Is You which ranks in my Top 10 U2 songs ever.
Oh and Barb the other 4 in my top 5bands would have to be The Clash, The Ramones, The The, and Sisters of Mercy. Today that is. It's a fluid and ever changing list ;)
Not as big a fan as you and Starr...but I enjoyed the flick when I saw it years ago
I wasn't a U2 fan. Then I saw the film. And while still not a big fan, I certainly had a greater appreciation for the band.
