Some are easy and some are like deciding who's your favorite kid.
1)David Bowie-Ziggy Stardust
2)Pearl Jam-Ten
3)Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here (close)
4)Janis Joplin-Pearl
5)Allman Brothers-Brothers & Sisters (Did I have to choose? Both are GREAT albums!)
6)The Cars
7)Led Zeppelin II
8)Nirvana Unplugged
Hey this is fun, thank for participating.
Jeff - does your mom like Janis? If not I will try to explain it to you sometime, it was more than the sound with Janis, it was the heart and soul and partly (for me) that I related to her and admired her for having guts and following her dream...sadly her dream turned into a nightmare :(
Classic, I am having a VERY hard time choosing between Bowie and Carole King. They are so different!
Sean, out of all the Zeppelin's which is your favorite?
Hi Drew, I know your fave Zeppelin (P.G.). I think my choices are the same as yours except I choose Dire Straits.
It's hard to have a favorite Zep album, but it's between III and Presence. "Achilles Last Stand" is one of the best things that they ever put together.
Carole King “Tapestry”
Dire Straits - Dire Straits
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Janis Joplin - Pearl
Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
Cars
Steely Dan - Can't Buy a Thrill
Nirvana “unplugged”
Tapestry and Can't Buy a Thrill are two of the best albums to come out of the 70s, period, so they were no brainers for me.
Janis Joplin was one of those "once in a lifetime" singers, IMO. How can you listen to her sing "Summertime" and not be moved?
While I like the Allman Brothers, The Crowes' first album is just flat out better.
Never liked INXS that much; really like the Cars.
David Gilmour > Jimi Hendrix. That's all I got to say.
Depeche Mode blows, so Nirvana was the logical choice.
Hmm.. this is getting difficult
1. Carole King - never got into Bowie that much
2. Dire Straits
3. Pink Floyd - has to be, really.
4. Janis Joplin
5. INXS
6. Cars - don't really like either but I'll go with the majority
7. Led Zep
8. Depeche Mode - one of the best albums ever!
David Bowie
Dire Straits
Pink Floyd
Janis Joplin
Allman Bros.
The Cars
Led Zeppelin
Nirvana
Well, I just "missed" two in Round Two, so here goes ...
"Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie
"Dire Straits" by Dire Straits
"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd
"Pearl" by Janis Joplin
"Brothers & Sisters" by the Allman Brothers
"Listen Like Thieves" by INXS
"Led Zeppelin II" by Led Zeppelin
"Unplugged" by Nirvana
Well I kind of let this slide but will fill in my answers then post the final winners.
I had to flip a coin between Carole and David:
1. Carole
2. Dire Straits
3. Pink Floyd (sorry Jimi!)
4. Janis
5. Allman Bros.
6. Inxs
7. Zeppelin
8. Nirvana
