Jasso & Garcia

Just got back from The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano for a night of great music. I bought tickets for Donovan Frankenreiter, and he was good. But the two guys that opened for him, Jasso and Garcia, blew him out of the water with their talent. I love musicians that have passion, talent and are not arrogant. You could tell these guys were real.

Jasso's vocal range is off the charts. I just sat their wondering why he's not famous. They did a cover of Light My Fire that was incredible...it was slow, acoustic and included castanets that rocked. I know what you're thinking: castanets don't rock...but I swear the way this guy played them, they did. Unfortunately they don't have that cover on their CD, but I am buying it anyhow. So, these guys are my new favorite local talent!

I would not classify them as classic rock, but its an honor to review them on my blog. I can't wait to see them live again.

I found your site doing a search on them, going to see the benefit show tonight. Ken Garcia is a dentist in Laguna, my wife goes to him. Small world.

I was there. I agree. Jasso and Garcia were awesome.
I never thought castanets were sexy before. I'll definately go see them again!

Bobby, I can't imagine having a dentist that looks like him....that would be very cool.

Anony, YES, sexy is the perfect way to describe it. I was mesmerized by that! Thanks for stopping by.

If you go see them let me know maybe we can say hi to each other at the next show.

They play at the Renaissance in Dana Point every Thursday night. Very good band. Jasso's voice is soulful and awesome and he sings in at least three languages!!!
