According to Mina Hochberg of the Chicago Tribune, these 8 people rank the hightest based on:
"This list is not about people with high IQs or Ivy League degrees; it's not about people who are outspoken, humanitarian or activist; it's not about artistic genius. Not that we deny the smarts of, say, Harvard grads Natalie Portman or Rivers Cuomo, or the Coen Brothers or Thom Yorke. This list isn't about the smartest people in entertainment. It's about people who entertain by being smart, whose intellects illuminate their performances."

Was this based on their SAT scores or your natural ability to read IQ's?
I haven't been an avid watcher of South Park since my last year of college (2003) but think Trey Parker and Matt Stone could even challenge Colbert for #1. To do what they do, crafting such biting social commentary on a weekly basis, is totally amazing.
Thanks for the list!

Brett - Great question...I will add the answer to the post which I should have done in the first place!
Blake, how totally cool to have you back on the blogworld!!!!! Diggin it so much! And your wife is awesome (how could she not be?)
I'll give you two rockers who are a hell of a lot smarter than most people give them credit for; Ted Nugent and Dave Mustaine. And I don't know if you've ever seen or heard Henry Rollins interviewed, but the guy is brilliant.
