Singing with Elvis - Question for You

A couple of people have talked about the Celine Dion/Elvis duet on last night's American Idol. My personal opinion is that it was a weird match up, I would have chose someone else to sing with The King. (had to say that cause it rhymed!) Who do you think would be the perfect person to sing a duet with Elvis? I'll let you know my answer later.

I agree with you, this was just a wierd match-up. But for me it wasn't the performance itself that intrigues me, it was the technology behind the performance that I found interesting. As I said on my blog in answer to your comment: "Being a video person this intrigued me. It was live to begin with; and it wasn't the old, flat, one-dimensional presentation of the past (the Natalie and Nat King Cole duet for instance). Using multiple camera angles, zooms, reverse shots, and even the rack-focus off of Elvis to Celine was, at least to me, very creative."

I did see it because I was awaiting Bono's appearance which I was a bit disapionted by but anyway, I think if I was to pick a female singer to sing with Elvis I would choose... Maybe Lauryn Hill, I'm not quite sure why but for some reason I could see it being good.

Does it have to be a female singer? If not, I'll pick Billy Idol so they could both get that lip thing going. Seriously, I might try Loretta Lynn.

ANYONE, just anyone but the queen of milquetoast... that was an insult to the King.

I giggled that they had a technical glitch right after that when they tried to go back across town to the other venue after pulling off a stunning technical marvel as that.

I'm sorry, but Elvis was the AntiChrist to me. I loathed everything he did and mourned not one second when he passed away. Call me cold-hearted if you want, but he was a no-talent hack to me.

BRUCE!!!!! How can you say that!!!! We have to agree to disagree on this one! It wasn't his level of talent, it was the whole thing.

I loved to see Celine & Elvis!
Of course, Elvis alone is most great! But I was moved with this pair! I agree to the Bruce when he said that it was very creative!
Excuse me, my English is worst! I´m a Brazilian girl! The world love Elvis!
