(Check Update!) Can You Identify These Rock n Roll Sillouettes?
This is a pretty cool T-Shirt which you can purchase here if you'd like, it comes without the numbers those were added so we can GUESS who's who on this shirt.
Now, who's gonna help me figure out who these people are.

incorrect are:
6, 9, 12 and 26.
the generation is artists who peaked from 1962-1972. so that would rule out bono, slash… etc.
Well damn, at least I got David Bowie right or I'd be really bummed!
is 2 Janis, and 3 Elvis?
I better stop guessing, I'm not very good at this!
I think that 17 is Paul McCartney and 5 is Jimi Hendrix (since they are both lefties, I am going by the directions in which their instruments are pointing).
My guess for 9 is Brian Jones. The silhouette is posed just like he was when he and the rest of the Stones performed "Paint It Black" on "The Ed Sullivan Show".
I agree with your guess for #28 (Stevie Nicks). However, Chopshopstore's hint that the artists peaked from 1962-72 would seem to rule Stevie out.
If I can think of any others, I'll come back.
I'd say 2 is Ian Anderson (plus flute) and 19 could be Jimmy Page with the double neck guitar?
Malcolm, you're quite brilliant.
Obsessive, you are right...that is a flute! Gotta be Ian. I think 9 is Robert Plant. I know Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan have to be in there....I think Janis is the one lying down...???? LOL this is hard.
Here's what I/we see so far...
1. Roger Daltrey
2. Ian Anderson
3. Pete Townsend
4. Jim Morrison

20 John Lennon
21 David Bowie
22 Joe Cocker
23 Glen Campbell
24
25
26
27
28 Janis Joplin
Still working on it.
#12 looks like Freddie Mercury.
#14 looks like Angus Young.
#24 Bruce Springsteen? He's playing a telecaster isn't he.
artster, #7 can't be George Harrison because it looks like a bass guitar he's carrying. Could it be Jack Bruce?
5 has to be Hendrix
Awesome. Simply awesome.
Now I want one with drum kits to identify.
Art, I'm impressed. I can't wait to see if your answers are right, I don't have them yet but will soon.
Eric - YES! 12 is so obvious now! That is TOTALLY Freddie! And I think you are right on about Angus and Bruce too. I can't believe I didn't recognize Bruce!
Starr, yep I'd say it is.
Anyone have a guess on 27??
Here's my guesses

artister is wrong on:
4, 8, 9, 16, 22, 23, 28
dr john is wrong on:
6, 8, 9(close), 12, 26
glen campbell?
This is too fun! I love seeing the guesses and having an "Insider" come by that knows the answers to let us know which ones we got wrong!
Keep guessing, we can do this!
Ouch! I'm going back to the drawing board. Are we still working with '62-'72?
The only one I knew was Jimi Hendrix. Number 5. As for the others? No idea.
I'm going to do my best to guess the remainder.
10. Robert Plant
16. Roy Orbison
23. Donovan
26. Slash
on the main list above… 24 and 9 are wrong.
Jeff got:
10. Robert Plante
RIGHT!
If 16 isn't Roy Orbison, is it Buddy Holly?
no… its someone who would be considered a legend by other musicians. think… “first alternative band” ever.
and yes. i should have said they peaked from 1962-1975.
Dang, this is getting good....we're closing in!
Based on Chopshopstore's hints, I will guess that #16 is Lou Reed.
Malcolm, I will shocked if that's not right. Good one!
27: Ravi Shankar with a tophat on?
Upon further review, I think #24 is The Boss.
Dang! I thought I had #8.
Those remaining answer really got me stumped, yet they are all so familar looking. Number Jerry Garcia?? I don't think it is.
Can't wait to see the complete list.
Oops - my previous comment should have read number 25 Jerry Garcia.
#16 IS LOU REED
RAVI SHANKAR is not on this design
BRUCE is not on this design.
#25 is not Jerry Garcis… but…
Ok, I'm ready to take some wild guesses....How about #26 is Marc Bolan; 24 Keith Richards;
Been doing some studying. I'm thinking #9 is Donovan. If we need to get technical, it's Shawn Phillips, who played the "sitar" on Donovan's "Sunshine Superman".
Um, yes, my fingers are crossed.
Barbara,
I'm guessing #6 is John Entwistle.
This is cool! :)
Art - what a great guess I hope you are right I ADORE Donovan!!!! I saw him in concert in the 90's and he was the same (just a bit older) it was a very small venue and I loved it.
Elena, ohhhhh interesting guess!!!! I'd like to hear how you came up with that.
Ok Wandeing in Space/Chop Store - we need you !!! Hints ???
Ok, now I'm second guessing myself :) If 6 isn't John Entwistle, maybe Dave Mason? And I think that 4 is Mick Jagger.
This is the latest we've got:
* = confirmed.

28 - Grace Slick
That's all I've got. I think there's smoke coming from my ears. :)
Elena - great guesses. I am ready for the answers!!!!! I will email the guy who knows and see if he'll tell me then I can give a few hints before we finish off the list!
artster’s list:
4 is Mick jagger
6 is wrong
9 is wrong
24 is keith richards
26 is jerry garcia
28 is wrong
elena’s list:
8 is Janis
9 YES it is George Harrison
7, 22 and 28 are wrong
6 is hard… southern rocker
7 is also tough… part of a group that justifiably probably should have 2 people in here.
15 is tough. what he is holding is a cup of tea.
22 don’t think its a tough one… based in part on a pretty well know image of him on a live album.
23 also not hard i think. other than dylan… who is the biggest male folk rocker?
25 i think is the hardest one. very well respected/influential by other musicians, but probably not recognizable by a majority of the public. same goes for #7.
27 he has been mentioned in here, but not for the correct number.
28 is Stevie Nicks which was ruled out accidentally as i had been mistakenly saying 65-75. its really more about a generation/attitude of rock despite what years they peaked.
Ok....I don't want to give myself an unfair advantage by guessing first with these new clues but I have to take a stab at two of these...
Could 6 be Duane Allman??
And 15 Cat Stevens? (tea - tea for the Tillerman?)
Based on the latest hints, here are some more guesses:
6. Ronnie Van Zant
22. Joe Cocker
23. Paul Simon
MALCOLM! YOU ARE RIGHT THAT HAS TO BE RONNIE V.Z.!!! Your too good at this. I was going to guess Paul Simon to (the hint made it obvious).
Joe Cocker - that's a good guess too probably right.
Did I mention the person who guesses the most gets a prize???????
Could 6 be Duane Allman??
YES
23. Paul Simon
YES
I'm back for more!
7 - Roger Waters
15 - Ray Davies
22 - Joe Cocker
25 - David Crosby
Still stumped on 27.
Could 7 be Bob Weir???
7. WATERS
YES
15. RAY DAVIES
YES
Elena - you are gooooooooood!
Thanks! If I were really good, I'd be able to tell you 22, 25 and 27!! LOL :)
Don't think I'm still not racking my brain over here. =)
OK I think 22 is Roger Daltry and #27 is Slash
Ok, my last go...
27 - Marc Bolan
:)
27 - YES TREX
25 i am not surprised people cannot get… but 22 makes me think i will need to revise on re-print.
anyone interested in just hearing the last 2?
ok....I give up, YES, please share the last two!!!
you got them from the hints! oddly enough… the last one blank was already confirmed as TREX.
TIS COMPLETE!
photo shoot was finally done last night: http://www.chopshopstore.com/images/rockStarHome.jpg
