Free CD - "Dreamboat Annie Live" by Heart
Shout Music was nice enough to give me a copy of the new CD and DVD of this incredible performance. Ann and Nancy were asked to do "Dreamboat Annie" in its entirety this past year and its now available on CD and DVD seperately. I am keeping the DVD - its a MUST HAVE for any Heart fan, but would like to give the CD away. Just to make it fun, here are a few trivia questions about Heart. The first person to get the majority of them correct (without cheating by looking up the answers!) can have the CD. I will leave this open for a few days.
1. Name three instruments each that both Ann and Nancy play.
2. What were many of the songs on Dreamboat Annie inspired by:
a) a boat
b) a man Nancy was in love with
c) the feminist movement
d) Anne's boyfriend
e) Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
f) the Viet Nam war
3. When Mushroom Records heard them play they wanted to sign one of the sisters but not the rest of the band....she said no unless they signed all of them. Who did they want to sign?
4. Name three popular songs off Dreamboat Annie?
5. Who is older, Ann or Nancy?
6. Name a band that were a major influence on them in their early years.
7. Do you know what the song "Crazy on You" is about? If so, what.
Remember - you don't have to get them ALL right to win. Good luck, its a great CD!

Wow Bruce off to a good start....
There are lots more answers to number one but so far you are kicking but.
I know my girls, Barbara... ;-)
Ok, Bruce, Since it looks like you aced the quiz (almost) I will see if you can dig a little deeper:
Name one more instrument that both Ann and Nancy can play that is featured on several of their songs.
AND
Why did Ann and Nancy originally move to Canada?
I didn't' know this myself till I watched the DVD. Shoot, I really should send you that, you'd love it.
I know very little about Heart, but I'm with Bruce on most of the answers (I wouldn't have guessed flute). I liked Heart's Zep covers a lot.

Well, I have the CD already, but I have a few educated guesses. I would think Ann and Nancy also play the mandolin. If not that, then the violin. I can see Nancy doing the Jimmy Page bow-playing on the guitar; why not the real thing? As for moving to Canada, a few other individuals in Heart not named Ann and Nancy probably got a draft notice. Why else move to Canada?
David, you'd dig them, they're pretty great for old ladies :)
Mad, You are quite right, I'm impressed. Mandolin is correct and so is the dodge draft - Ann's bf got drafted and split so they moved up there so she could be with him.
Barbara, we're website-hopping I gather. It was an educated guess, really. I know for a fact Nancy plays the mandolin, but I figured as a stringed instrument it would be up Ann's alley as well.
I actually reviewed Dreamboat Annie on my site, but you wouldn't have seen it because apparently I suck with labels. That perhaps should be my next task before I log off...
David- I have to confess that the only reason I knew the flute was one of the instruments is because I saw Ann playing it on their Vh1 Classic concert earlier this year.
Barbara- I could've probably guessed the mandolin, but the moving to Canada thing stumped me.
Just caught part of their Free show on Direct TV. What can I say. The music brings back memories. Ya'll have fun now....
