No problem. I just listened to Gentle Giant today - ever heard of them? I'm on my second spin and I think I know why I never have. Ouch. Have fun! -- Bryan
Gentle Giant isn't bad, but you have to like prog. They're no worse than Peter Gabriel era Genesis. They're just not as accessible as Yes and not as intense as King Crimson.Barbara, another one to listen to is the Clash. I'm sure you've heard them, but London Calling is one of the truly great rock albums and it transcends punk to appeal to just about any rock fan.Another you might like is Screaming Trees. They were a grunge band, but Dust is one of my favorite albums from the 90s and they certainly tapped into a 70s vein.
Bob, I think this is one of the first times you and I have agreed on something. Screaming Trees is a very good band, and even though I was never a punk fan, The Clash were the exception. London Calling is a great album.
Can I add Tesla after finally seeing them live last night (this morning!) ? One of the bands from the MTV-era that were actually worth their salt - it took me 21 years since Mechanical Resonance to finally see them live and they certainly did not disappoint...
