An Open Letter to Mr. Plant

Dear Bob, Congrats on the huge sweep of wins at the Grammy's tonight. I'd heard you had already pounded the last nail in the coffin of any possible reunion tour, but this seals the coffin and buries it. You've moved on. I am happy for you because you look so happy. But dang it...I'm still very disappointed that one of my life long dreams will never come true!

Love ya always,

Layla

I like Allison Krauss - she has a very unique voice, and of course I like Robert Plant - or used to - I thought last night's duo did nothing to showcase either of them - it was pretty boring. My 2 cents

Plant good.
Kraus good.
Plant/Krause not so good.

I love the collaboration between Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, and personally I was pleased to see their "success" with the otherwise blatant prostitution of "music" that is the Grammys.

As for a possible reunion, to me, it just would not be the same without John Bonham. As a result, if Plant has "moved on," perhaps that is best - for him, at least.

Take a look at the 2 photos you have posted. Robert is smart enough not to tarnish Led Zep by going out on a tour that could never live up to fans expectations. Different time, different guy.

As much as I love Zep, I have to admit I think he is smart by sitting this one out.

Good for him. He's doing what he wants to do, no matter what the fans want.

Art Guy, I didn't see it but for some reason I just can't give them a fair try. My prejudice comes through...I want to hear Tangerine, Rock & Roll, Going to California....

Hi Johnny G!

Hi Southern, I've often said that its not really LZ without John but that having his son fill in for him makes it okay. But if it was ANYONE other than Jason, it would bother me.

Hi Jess!

Mike, Yes. Robert even alluded to that himself in a review recently - he's a wise man.

Unholy,
Yes, good point. I believe we've had this debate here before so I won't open that can of worms again :)

Well, Barbara, as you know, I saw them on the Physical Graffiti tour. Too bad I was a bit too high to fully appreciate the show. Saw Page & Plant on at the Gorge in George. Straight this time, I loved it. Lame opening acts though. Of course, they did not play Stairway. But Dazed and Confused, Communication Breakdown, Kashmir, etc. were pretty awesome. Plant's voice isn't what it used to be, but Jimmy still rocks.

My no-reunion-regret is that Pink Floyd will not be reuniting, with or without Roger. Fortunately I got to see them on the Meddle and Dark Side tours. I still kick myself that I did not see them on the Division Bell tour. At least I have the DVD.

Oh, and I did not watch the Grammys. I think I had to go comparison shopping for kitty litter or something else I thought was more entertaining than watching the Grammy's.

I thought Raising Sand was a great album. It was nice to see Robert Plant push his music boundries. From Whole Lotta Love to to this is quite a gap. He's filled it nicely with his solo work.

Yeah,I'd love to see a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. I kinda wonder what the next Plant/Krauss album would sound like.

Ah well. At least there's "The Song Remains the Same". Spend the money that you would have spent on tix to see L.Z. and buy a huge wide screen tv and really awesome speakers and there ya go.

But yeah, not having the Zeppelin possibility really sucks especially after having them tease us with the few British shows last year really sucks.

Hey GM, how fun to get a comment from you on this blog!!!

Drew,I guess if I am honest, I did not give Plant & Kraus too much of a chance....since you like it maybe I will try it one more time :)

Silver - EXCELLENT idea, I do have the DVD and its definitely LZ at their finest!
