OLD Stones
I can't believe how great some of the old Rolling Stones songs are. I am really loving LastFm online radio, it will play songs I have not heard in years...like "Tops" from the Stones....Hello? Do you know how old that is? 1981. Just some random song off the "B" side of Tattoo You. Good stuff.

I think you have to go back a lot further than 1981 to get to the great Stones songs. Okay, "Waiting on a Friend" was great, but otherwise, I'd say you have to go back to Exile on Mainstreet. I'm a big Stones-hater, but largely because I think they've spent the last 35 years ripping people off. I really think they have more the quality of a Stones cover band now. I guess I'm like a broken record on this subject though.
Bob, Bob, Bob....yes the real real real early stuff was the best. In fact I never bought anything after Tattoo You, to me that was their last album. BUT I did like all there stuff up to then.
Sorry you have such a problem with them, I hear what your saying. Its sad when that happens to a good band. They really should have hung it up and just toured when they were in the mood - I mean really how much money can one person spend?
I do love Mick and Keith though, can't help myself.
Mick and Keith have both done some really good solo stuff long after the Stones should have called it a day. I really think it's because they could be themselves on those albums rather than pretending to be who they were a long time ago.
