Robert is one of my all time favorite vocalists...and I will never, ever tire of watching "The Song Remains the Same" or any other video of Zeppelin. Hope he has a great birthday (even though I'm still disappointed in him for not wanting to do a reunion....)

Incredible concert at Madison Square Garden back in the 70's...
He still has the pipes too
As I have said before here I love the new stuff with Alison Krauss. I highly recommend if you havent to give it a listen. He is a true artist with his voice as is Ms. Krauss
Led Zep has always found a place in my music rotation and I like the bulk of RP's solo stuff as well.
Here's something to ponder, though:
Robert Plant secretly wanted to be Janis Joplin.
Cant and wont ever believe that. He was all about his manhood on stage. I suppose I can see similarities in performance though. Sean, is that more of what you meant?
My comment had nothing to do with his sexual preference. (from the road stories, he definitely went through many women)
If anything, Janis was closer in attitude to a male persona on stage and Plant emulated quite a bit of her singing style. Just wanted to clarify :)
I really havent heard much about Plant in recent years. He is arguably the best lead singer of all time, and its great to see him touring again and working on new projects.
