Free Music?
You pay a very minimal fee and then can download as many songs as you want. It seems too good to be true after giving iTunes .99 for every song I buy.
Any opinions out there? I'd love to hear what others think.

A Review of Rock N Roll in the 60's
So you were born in the 80's and can't understand why your parents keep that old box of vinyls in that cardboard box in the garage - they'll never listen to them again!
For one reason they are too scratched and for another - who the heck has a turntable? How could people even stand to listen to the quality of music turntable would provide?
Ahhh, vinyl. Those were the days. The Beginning of music as we know it today.
No matter what genre you prefer, their are roots back to the 60's:
Folk
Surf
LA Rock
Rock British Invasion
Rock
Motown
Folk Rock
Progressive Rock
Arena rock
Acid Rock
San Fransisco Rock
Did I forget any combos? Acid Folk Surf Rock? I'll see what I can dig up that may get some of you interested in the 60's. There was a lot more the the 60's than The Beatles, The Stones and Hendrix :)
Do You Believe in Magic?
The 60's. I wasn't actually old enough to to appreciate the era, but love the music and the colorful history of the culture back then.
Here is the first part in a series on music from the 60's.
Take a look at The Lovin' Spoonful! Four guys from New York showed up in 1965 at the height of the British Invasion to share their folk/rock and people are still listening to them today!

Jesus Loves Rock and Rollers
I ran across this website
and although the statistics are true, the way it's presented makes me very sad and embarrassed. This in not "preaching the good news about Jesus". This is being judgemental and unkind.
The Jesus I know and follow would not condemn the people listed on the attached list, in fact he would hang out with them. That’s right! Jesus always hung out with the people in society that others thought of as “bad” or “low” or “weird”. Today’s equivalents of the folks he hung out with, in my opinion, would homosexuals with AIDS, homosexuals without AIDS, prostitutes, Addicts of all types, Criminals and people with emotional, mental and physical disabilities.
So, my point is that maybe John wouldn’t have got so drunk that night if he had Jesus sitting there with him. Maybe Janis would not have been so depressed and feel so unloved. Maybe Michael would have had some hope and chose not to hang himself. I don’t know. Yes, rock stars do have a shorter life expectancy than the average person, for many reasons. But to suggest that they are evil and will all go to hell and DESERVE it is to slap Jesus in the face.

Thank you Canada!
Two of these bands only had THREE MEMBERS EACH! Can you even believe it with all that incredible rock music?
Wow, here's a thought, this would be the Canadian Rock Dream Team:
Gil Moore, Mike Levine and Rik Emmett playing alongside Alex Lifeson, Getty Lee and Neil Pert!!!
OH MY GOSH, my friend David would think he'd died and gone to Heaven! I think I'll name this band "Triumpant Rush".

I lost a friend in the Great White Fire
I was listening to "Hair Nation" one of my fave stations on Sirius satellite radio, when a Great White song came on (Once Bit, Twice Shy). My memory went back to that horrible day when I opened the local newspaper and saw a picture of an old friend of mine, Scott Griffith. Scott's photo was there because he was one of the victims of the tragic fire that took 100 lives total.
Scott lived up the street from me and he and my brother were buddies. Once we all got into our teens we partied together and he would show off his talents at guitar playing. There was no doubt in our minds that he would make it. He never hit the big time, but he did have a successful career as a musician.
His band here in So. Cal. used to play with Great White a lot, so he became friends with them. That's why he was standing right there at the stage when it happened. The saddest part is that he was a single dad raising his teen daughter on his own. He had overcome a drug/alcohol problem and devoted his life to being a good dad. She lost him that night...and so did his old friends.
Rest in peace, Scott or as your old friends say Rock in Peace
