Ted or Elton?

I was going to post a photo of Elton John today but thanks to a post by my buddy Steve, (see his post titled Jesus Loves Ted Nugent) I shall share a Ted Nugent memory.


I've seen Ted a few times but I only remember one specifically. I can remember sitting on the grass on a blanket with my roommate Nicole, her date Rick and my date, Eric. It was out FIRST date and I could tell he wanted to put his arm arount me but was chicken.

Ok back to Ted....In addition to being a very talented and passion filled musician the guy was athletic! He was like a fine tuned machine, or in his case maybe he would prefer to be compared to a wild animal. At one point he changed from a skin-tight white outfit to a pair of leather chaps with nothing covering the backside! Okay, this is really not about Ted's music but it's making me smile and I really, really needed to smile.

How's this for a thought: Ted and Elton on stage together doing a duet? What song do you think they'd do? Tune in tomorrow for Elton.

This, and Madman Across the Water are the only two Elton John albums I've owned...they are both A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.





Saw Elton once and just sat there mesmerized by his talent and showmanship. He acutally played from UNDER his piano a few times. Gotta love EJ.

Being a child of the 70's, my musical taste tends to reflect on the many talented, incredible bands that were around between 69-80. (I swear I am not THAT old, I just started listening really young).

But...there were also some great 80's bands. I will dedicate the next several posts to some of my faves.

Mick, Please Help!

I love the Stones, have seen them only twice in all these years. I would love to see them again before it's too late (who knows if they will tour again).

BUT....I can't get tickets. First of all they sold out immediately upon going on sale (all three shows). Second, the majority of the tickets were bought by scalpers (I know this because there are an abundance of them for sale at all the ticket outlets). Third, the CHEAPEST seat I can find is $150.00.

I know what you are thinking..."what's the big deal, $150.oo is not that bad, you paid $400 for U2 tickets!"

Well, my U2 tickets are great seats. These $150.00 tickets have a "markedly restricted view" which means blunty: you can't see jack crap from these seats. They are not only in the nosebleed section, but they are behind the stage, beind a pillar or something.

The next price up for a slightly less crappy seat was $240.00 for wheelchair seating. I suppose I could rent a wheelchair for the night, but it would be kind of obvious when I got up and danced that I was faking it.

Next - for a crappy view you can pay $450.00. If you want a view but are alone you can pay $500.00 for a single seat. BUT if you want to go with someone and have a seat you are going to have to pay anywhere from:

$650.00 - $1,800.oo EACH!

This just breaks my heart and ticks me off. Why? Why do they charge so much? Don't these people have enough money? I love you, Mick...but I am so disappointed that you allow these outrageous prices.

Mick, I know you read my blog, dude, so PLEASE, make this right! It's uncalled for and pathetic. Write me and let me know what you plan to do about it.

Duran Duran and Elvis Costello!

NO, not together...can you imagine? That would be an interesting show.

I came across two reviews today of the above bands that were both seen in concert the other night while I was at a Michael McDonald concert (who feels old? me)
