Okay, I haven't done this in a while. Do you know the song each of these lyrics come from? Key word: "know". Anyone can look them up on Google! If you need a hint or two let me know....
1. And we don't need the ladies
Cryin' 'cause the story's sad
2. But he can't be a man cause
He doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as mine
3. You can call me Joe
Buy me a drink and shake my hand
4. I've got to keep on chasin' that dream, though I may never find it
I'm always just behind it.
5. Cause I get down on my knees, Oh, I pray that love won't die
And if I always try to please, I don't know the reason why, yeah
6. Feeling all alone and without a friend you know you feel like dying
7. How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing,
For the sparkling waves are calling you to kiss their white laced lips.
8. When you see a hand that's held out toward you,
Give it some love, some day it may be you.
9. Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul
10. But someone among them had the skill of deceit
And raised the hand that would open the road to Hell

I'm not going to spoil everyone else's fun, but it was very cool to see "Tales of Brave Ulysses" on the list :)
The only one I know offhand is 1: Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh.
I'm obsessed with lyrics.
Like, it bothers me when people are singing along to a song and they either a) sing the lyric wrong or b) don't know most of the lyrics.
When I find a new album to listen to, I sit down with the lyrics while I'm listening. It's amazing. :)
hey, i think i remembered the 3rd one, its bruce springsteen right?? his song Nothing Man??
Is #4 Boston "Long Time"?
One is from a band named after the city i'm from- And i don't mean Chicago.
Layla: Some of these R REALLY good -- meaning I don't recognize 'em right off, & I'm a sucker 4 a good lyric. As already ID'd, #1 is from Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way."
#2 is from the Stones' "Satisfaction."
Already ID'd, #4 is from Boston's "Long Time."
#6 is from Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me."
I guess #7 is from Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses," but I wouldn't ever have known if Sean Coleman hadn't provided a hint above....
The rest of these I don't recognize -- U've outdone yrself this time! NE prize 4 whoever gets the most right...? I'm gonna feel like a real dummy if it turns out I know all these songs but just couldn't figure 'em out....
...& I trust U'll B deleting the spam-comment that right now appears above mine?.... -- TAD.
I only recognize 6!
Tad has already posted a couple of the ones I recognised. The only one I can add is #9 which is Bowie... Starman I think but I could be wrong on both counts. :-)
