Oh, I'm really sorry for your friend. But, talking about this song, its my favorite song by Lynrd Skynrd, for its so much evergreen, bright rhythm, and really awesome guitar solo that goes on for so long, and keeps me hooked up to my Music system ...
Late June 2003, I took a call and received news that I still find hard to believe. No matter how much time passes, it's tough to accept. I'm truly sorry that this time of year carries such a sad association for you. I can relate.
When I was a freshman in college I called an old friend of mine from high school one night.
"Did you hear about Jesse?" "What?" "He killed himself this morning."
It hit me like a ton of bricks. Jesse had been one of my closest friends in grade school. We'd drifted apart in middle school and high school but I'd just seen him a couple months before at the county fair a few weeks before I'd left for college.
I still don't fully know the "whys" I just know the "hows." And my heart still really goes out to his family-- even 15 years later. Given how he did it, I can't even begin to imagine the grief his parents have endured.
