I asked in a previous post if you would go see Zeppelin sans Roberto. I am still not sure how I feel about it. I think a lot of it will depend on prices.
First and foremost of all-I'd LOVE to go see Led Zeppelin in concert-anytime,anyplace,anywhere...It'll be a dream come true. I've seen Robert Plant twice,Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, and Jimmy Page & the Black Crowes. (4 concerts of Zep material) Still..not Led Zeppelin.
That being said..If JP,JPJ,and JB decide to go on tour without Plant,I'd go see them. Only,if I hear a recording of some sort of the replacement with the band prior to the show. If I'm going to spend $$ on something I've never heard, it better be worth it.
I'll go out of my to see Led Zeppelin. But without Robert Plant-I'm not so sure.
I liked it better when they just left the Led Zeppelin thing alone. I really appreciated their integrity and respect for the band that was Led Zeppelin.
Kinda like the Stones without Mick Jagger - They might play some decent tunes, but who can sound like Robert Plant? (I'd better be careful, I didn't think anyone could touch Jimi Hendrix until Stevie Ray Vaughn came along)..my two cents
That's the thing, I really wish they'd not call it "Led Zeppelin". It oughta be some cool reworking of the name or something totally new, and they oughta have new music. Maybe they will. I mean they're a blues band basically, so they can just jam, maybe reference some classics, but just play good music.
Keeping the same name, and the with/without Plant deal, just muddies the waters when it should just be about good music. Hey, Muddy Waters... maybe they should do like a classic blues cover tour, have B.B. King with'em sometimes?
It's a continuing question...is it Yes without Jon Anderson, is it Queen without Freddie Mercury? All I can say is if Jimmy Page is on tour, I want to see him.
I've fallen so far away from Led Zeppelin. I can't stand listening to the radio anymore, because I swear, they are always on at least one of my presets at every moment of the day. I'm pretty sure these radio stations around me think it's a crime to not play them every five minutes. Ughh... I'm getting all angry talking about it. It was always my dream to see Zep but with my current feelings towards their music, I feel completely unmotivated to see them, especially without RP.
No, it's not the same. If they do go ahead and tour with another singer, they should call themselves Tin Foil Zeppelin; there's no "led in that pencil" without Plant.

"It's still rock and roll to me."
I babbled more about this at my blog. I guess I'd go, I'd have a blast, but I wouldn't quite consider that I truly saw Led Zeppelin.

Well, they can't ask Paul Rodgers. He's busy.
I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmy Page and JPJ. But let's not kid ourselves--this will NOT be a Led Zep tour.

Yeah, I think I'd go see it...but I don't know if I could totally get into it like I would if RP was there.

Seeing JPJ and Page would be wonderful. I would NOT be seeing Led Zep, but still wonderful.
And no, Queen without Mercury is NOT Queen.
The answer is NO!!!!!!
