Where were you 21 years ago today on July 13, 1985 ???
I can tell you exactly where I was, what I was doing, who I was with, and even what I was wearing! It was a GREAT DAY in not only Rock n Roll history, but also in one of the first world wide efforts at bringing awareness to poverty and starvation in Africa. Where: My back yard. We pulled the TV set to the edge of the sliding glass door and set up beach chairs, two fans, an ice chest full of beer and some munchies What: ROCKING OUT to some of the best bands around at the time! Who: It was me and my sister Wearing: A purple and lavender bikini and lots of sunscreen We sat there for hours and didn't miss a thing! Check the above link out for some great details. Here are some of my fave performances (even Princess Diana was there!)
CHECK OUT THESE PHOTOS! LOOK HOW YOUNG EVERYONE WAS! ESPECIALLY BONO - HE WAS BARELY OUT OF HIS TEENS!
TRIVIA: What band reunited for this one event and has never played together again since then?
I DECIDED NOT TO POST THE PIC OF MYSELF IN THE STRING BIKINI.

I was just three months short of my 33rd birthday(yeah, I know; I'm old), and I remember watching what I could on MTV. I always thought it was cool that Phil Collins played on both sides of the pond. Which reminds me...was it Genesis?
I wasn't even born when Live Aid happened but it sure seemed like a great event with a better lineup than Live 8. I would love to get my hands on the DVD but I'm not sure if it is worth the money.
I was 12 1/2, but I couldn't tell you what I was doing. I know I watched some of it on MTV, but I was probably hanging out at the pool near my house most of the time.
Holy cow... I don't remember this day, but I was 14 1/2, and I'm sure I was doing some serious loafing somewhere, or perhaps watching Live Aid (I don't remember actually watching it, but I do remember the event quite well, as it was history!)
I remember it well. For some reason, what sticks most in my head is the fact that Phil Collins performed on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to the now-retired Concorde. He did sets of his own as well as drum work for Clapton and the 3/4 reunited Zep.
I don't know about your trivia question ... did Duran Duran's original line-up ever play together again after Live Aid?
