LOVE IT!
Do any of you remember this songby Dr. Hook? Its a fun one!
Well we are big rock singers, we've got golden fingers
And we're loved everywhere we go
We sing about beauty and we sing about truth
At ten thousand dollars a show
We take all kind of pills to give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill we've never known
Is the thrill that'll get you when you get your picture
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

That must be close to the Holy Trinity for rock fans :)
Sean, lol, good one.
Oh that would be a good question....Who ARE the three most iconic rockers?
Great song. I remember the guys singing it in Almost Famous too. Great movie.
Mike, I love that movie! An old friend used to call me "Penny Lane" after that movie came out. I suppose I should have been insulted in some way, but I liked it.
Awww, she was a tad messed up, but she was sooo sweet. I'd take it as a complement.
Oh my ... I just love the rolling stones' cover you have posted above ! 3 of the world's all time great artists standing together ! Just amazing!
A great song indeed and they finally did get on the cover (Dr. hook that is)
I just got my issue of RS and looking forward to reading this one...
Nice to see rockers on the cover and not boy bands or half naked semi talented females
Bond, I hear ya! I think they lost a lot of credibility when they stopped being a rock and roll mag and started being just another pop music mag.
i definitely agree with Sir Bond about the RS mag ... It has lost all its influence and quality since recent times ... i am always in the lookout for atleast a bit of pure rock n roll in that big magazine ...
The day the Jonas Brothers were on the cover was the day I decided to let my subscription lapse.
I don't mind talented pop artists being on the cover, but those kids can't sing and can barely put notes together to form music.
Hey Bond, thanks for the reminder about Dr. Hook - that was cool.
Mike - But the Jonas Brothers...they are SO CUTE!!!! Isn't that what counts?????? (if you're 12)
That's what Teen Beat and it's ilk are for.
Mike - RIGHT!
I hate what Rolling Stone has become, but that's a good cover.
Layla - it's been forever since I've heard that song (except for in Almost Famous). I used to have it on 45 when I was a kid and would listen to it often. Thanks!
I am with Mike and now I wanna watch that. You know the real Penny Lane lives in Portland =)
