No matter what you think of their music, they ARE the greatest rock band ever (in my humble opionio). They define RnR. This site is really, really cool...don't skip the intro.
I love Zeppelin. They redefined rock and roll. You know that old saying that you can like both the Beatles or The Stones, but you have to prefer one? When someone asks me if I'm a Beatles or Stones girl, I always answer "Led Zeppelin". Not to say that I don't like the other two, but I honestly like them about the same. But Zep rules.
I got into an argument with this dorky kid one time at a restaurant I used to work at, in my younger years. He thought he was so cool and knew everything about music. We were talking about blues and he was going on about how blues sucks, etc and then he started going off about Led Zeppelin being the best band ever. I was like, "don't you realize that many of their songs are actually blues covers...and everything they do has a heavy blues influence?" He didn't appreciate that little tidbit.
I agree ....awesome group!!! I remember being surprised the first time I read the Lord of The Ring series....and going what???....I've heard these words before..Mordor, ringwraiths, misty mountians,Gollum ...I've even heard that Plant named his dog Strider...hope your doing good...I haven't been on the computer much lately but missed your blog!! Certainly are the most talented group of musicians in my eyes! Mojo magazine does great stuff, I have a Floyd magazine of them and it's fantastic!
