These guys are the real deal. I just got to know them with the new album "Brothers". I highly recommend as they sound like so many different bands from long ago but also new and creating their own sound.
Finding this has made me remember what it was like long ago. To discover a new band and album and share it with my friends.
If you haven't yet, check them out now. Just a small snippet of their sound follows.
If you will, tell me your favorite "classic rock" sounding newer bands, post 1999.
Saw them support Kings of Leon the other night - good stuff, if a little cliched at times. New single's great though, best whistling since Otis' Dock of the Bay!
they do sound like the "oldies". this is cool! there's a psychedelic feeling to it when i was listening to the song you posted, i kind of feel like swaying with the music... I would say the Killers adnd Rooney but with their own twist of course...

Good post, Dan! I need some more Black Keys on my iPod. I will need to think about your question and get back to comment later.

My favorite new band that sounds like classic rock is Back Door Slam.
The Black Keys Brothers does sound sort of retro, but fresh at the same time. Brothers is the sound of summer 2010!

For a fresh take on "Classic Rock" my money is on the Muggs. Check 'em out. http://www.themuggs.com/
