No matter what your personal taste in music is, if you are truly PASSIONATE about it, you will get this:
The last six days of my life have been hellish. I wondered at times if I would ever feel "normal" again, if life could ever have a glimmer of joy or if I would spend the rest of my days drowning in the worry that inflicts parents of drug addicts.
But then...
I watched this, and I felt good. I got lost in SRV's unparalleled talent and suddenly had hope. It may not make sense, but it is what it is.

My brother once said to me, 'Music is EVERYTHING'. How right he was. It can take you away and bring you back completely altered.
Thank God for it.
SRV is an example of the hope that exists for drug addicts. He kicked his habits and stayed clean until his unfortunate death. I think he would have stayed sober even if he were still here, because his life improved so much after he stopped using.

music is my drug of choice. It takes me away from all of the crap of my life and soothes the hurts. It also opens my eyes and mind to new feelings.

"Music has charms to soothe the savage beast." That saying explains for me exactly what music does for me. When I am moody, when I am struggling with something, when I am looking for direction, more often than not music gets me through it.
SRV was for me an inspiration. How a man who went through the addictions he did and came out on the other side a superstar is inspiring. Its just too bad he was taken before his time should have been up. By the way he died not more than 15 miles from where I live.

that's not the first time i've seen that clip but i certainly appreciate being reminded that it exists.
when SRV died i was in Ireland on a soccer trip. to this day when i think back to that trip it never fails to remind me of the great teammates/friends, great soccer games, and Heaven on Earth that is Ireland, but the absolute first thing i remember about that trip is hearing the news of SRV's death.
music is passion joy hope love and every other feeling - it's what makes it great for the soul.

Its good to see so many people appreciating SRV.
Saw him almost one year before he died. He gave an extended speech about overcoming his addictions and played brilliantly.
