I opened Seano's blog and was shocked to see than Ronnie had lost his battle with cancer. I thought he was getting better. I cried.
My heart goes out to his wife, Wendy, his family, friends and fans.
Here is a Facebook page where you can leave your condolences.
Here's a memory my sister has of Ronnie:
"Back in August 1983 he was opening for Aerosmith and showed up at Tower Records in El Toro to sign albums. It was more like a gathering of fans, not really a "wait in line" kinda thing. Ronnie was very sweet and gentle, not at all like the persona he has on stage. He was very short even with his platform shoes. I still have the album he signed. I've seen him in concert three times, once with Black Sabbath, once with Rainbow and once with Dio."
Thank you, Ronnie, for the great music and your passion for hard rock and roll. You will be remembered and missed.

I have been off and on crying and listening to his music all afternoon. :( I thought he was getting better as well.
I was really hoping that he would beat this. Very sad news.
R.I.P. Dio. I have always had a fondness for your music. I first saw you in 1980 with Sabbath, and then later in 83 at the Houston Music Hall. I remember all my friends were there and you could feel the magic in the air. I wrote a poem the previous night called "The Night Before Dio". All these years later I am still listening to your music. What a voice, and what creativity. You'll be missed by many. As far as those talking trash well... "all the fools sail away", they always will. Much respect here. You rock!!!!!!!
Certain celebrities die and it just hits me. Ronnie James Dio is one of them. Such a huge part of my teen years and always a favorite. Nothing better than putting on some Dio and belting out those vocals right along with him. My friend Rachel and I saw him and Yngwie Malmsteen in the 90's.
I`m so sad... He gone in Heaven... I wrote about this black day:
