NEW CLUES!

Wanderinginspace has provided us with some new clues and corrected and connfirmed the answers, so the ones listed on the post are all correct as of right now.

Here are the clues:

6 is hard… southern rocker

7 is also tough… part of a group that justifiably probably should have 2 people in here.

15 is tough. what he is holding is a cup of tea.

22 don’t think its a tough one… based in part on a pretty well know image of him on a live album.

23 also not hard i think. other than dylan… who is the biggest male folk rocker?

25 i think is the hardest one. very well respected/influential by other musicians, but probably not recognizable by a majority of the public. same goes for #7.

27 he has been mentioned in here, but not for the correct number.

28 is Stevie Nicks which was ruled out accidentally as i had been mistakenly saying 65-75. its really more about a generation/attitude of rock despite what years they peaked.

John Mellencamp "Life, Death, Love and Freedom"

I received my copy of this to review. I'd h eard great things about this CD, one friend (BV!) going so far as to say it was very much like something Springsteen would write. Well, that gave me an attitude of "Ha, sure, John is okay but comparing him to Bruce? A bit much."

I hadn't even bothered to pay attention to John Mellencamp for years. But let me tell you - this album really is GREAT. I loved it at first listen, which is rare for me. I am tempted to go back and see what his last few albums sound like to compare them. I can say he's matured a lot and his music shows it, but geez hopefully we all have. My last album by him was in 1985, Scarecrow. I would recommend this and rate it a "B+". Where were you in '72?

Recently a bootleg of a legendary David Bowie concert has been officially released. You can read more about it over at About Classic Rock.

Seeing Bowie back in the 70's was AMAZING. I wasn't at the '72 show but did see him in '76. He was at the height of his androgynous glam stage and there was no one else like him. I've stayed a fan over the years and have loved watching him evolve and change into different personas.

The one I like best is - David Bowie, the real deal. He is so personable and funny on stage, it was almost surprising to me to see that side of him after only knowing him as Ziggy, Aladin, The Tall White Duke.....

AC/DC and Walmart?

The first single from AC/DC's new studio album will be "Runaway
Train." Tentatively- titled Black Ice, the disc is due out on Oct.
28th in North America via an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart.

Well I hope I am offered an advance copy to review. I haven't been a huge fan of them since back in the early days but it will be interesting to see what they come up with for this new album.

Speaking of reviews...I got John Melencamps new one in the mail yesterday and will be giving it a listen today. He's another one that I haven't really paid much attention to in recent years but so far this new recording has gotten some good reviews.

Beckeye is Getting Famous...

Do you read Becky's blog, The Pop Eye? Even if you're not into pop culture you should be checking her out just for her hilarious take on things and her flair for writing. She's snarky, smart and talented.

She's been getting some notoriety lately! Her latest guest appearance is on none other than The Huffington Post. Even if you don't like that site, its one of the MOST POPULAR on the entire Internet!

She doesn't stop by here very often anymore, you know how those people get when they think they're all that and a bag of chips. I think its our duty to keep her grounded and not forget the little people once she hits the big time. Will someone leave her a comment and tell her Layla said to get her butt over here once in awhile :) Thanks!
