Beckeye is Getting Famous...

Do you read Becky's blog, The Pop Eye? Even if you're not into pop culture you should be checking her out just for her hilarious take on things and her flair for writing. She's snarky, smart and talented.

She's been getting some notoriety lately! Her latest guest appearance is on none other than The Huffington Post. Even if you don't like that site, its one of the MOST POPULAR on the entire Internet!

She doesn't stop by here very often anymore, you know how those people get when they think they're all that and a bag of chips. I think its our duty to keep her grounded and not forget the little people once she hits the big time. Will someone leave her a comment and tell her Layla said to get her butt over here once in awhile :) Thanks!

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp

Who hasn't seen the episode of The Simpson's where Homer goes to Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp? Its my all time favorite! Mick Jagger, Joe Strummer, Lenny Kravits, Tom Petty, Keith Richards and probably some others I can't remember.

Past Camp’s have had campers working alongside The Who’s legendary lead singer Roger Daltrey, Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash, The Rolling Stones’ Bill Wyman and Joe Walsh from the Eagles. Campers have performed and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, performed at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, shared the stage with KISS’ Paul Stanley and Motley Crue’s Vince Neil and listened to tales about life on the road with Bret Michaels** of Poison.

If you were Led Zeppelin, what would you do?

As RRN points out, they have a legitimate reason for not wanting to participate:

According to a Led Zeppelin spokesman, the bands reluctance to involve themselves with the game scene stems not from the issue of money, but from their reluctance to lend out their master tapes that would be required to add the the groups legendary music to the games.

My thought was that they should do it because it would generate tons of money which they could donate all to charity (I mean really - they probably all have way more money than they could possibly use right?)

Friends:

This was Danny's last performance with Bruce and the E Street Band. Of course at that time, no one would know his death would be only a few months away. Take three minutes and 22 second of your life to watch this. You'll see, and maybe even feel, the heart of this band and the love that Bruce had for his long time friend Danny.

The look on Danny's face here breaks my heart because I think somehow he knew...

RIP to him. He's on my mind because as all of Bruce people know - "4th of July" was Danny and Bruce's special song to perform together.
