Bob told me about some softward that will undetle all my lost files so I am in the process of doing that now.

I still have a lot of work ahead of me to get them back in order and on my ipod but I am SO THANKFUL TO BOB!

Music Crisis

I am grieving the loss of several thousand songs.

I thought they were safe on my external hard drive.

I thought I knew what I was doing.

But, I f*cked up.

They are gone.

Thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours spent downloading, burning, ripping...80% of it is gone.

I am in shock. I spent over an hour searching my computer for them....I am fairly tech saavy so I know where to look and what to do...but they are fucking gone.

I emptied my recycle bin - does anyone know how to retrieve something after its been deleted from there? That's my only hope.

I am crying.

Now what have I done!

I have a love/hate relationship with iTunes/iPod.

I LOVE my iPod - I HATE using iTunes.

So, after all these years and and countless hours re-adding music that got "lost" and other such annoying things, I decided to dump iTunes and try out Media Monkey.

I chose Media Monkey because the smartest computer person I have ever met says its good and he uses it. What we didn't discuss was the synchronization process since he doesn't have an iPod.

I spent my lunch hour reading forums in Media Monkey to learn what I am in for when I go to synch later.

Crap.
I think I am doomed.

Its not going to be a smooth transition, but I already put ALL my music in MM and spent a long time making playlists and finding missing album art, etc.

Wish me luck...I just don't want to go back to iTunes for SO many reasons.

Does anyone out there have any other music managers that they like that are easy to use?

Grammy Results for Bruce

Here is my latest complaint about the Grammy Awards, and I will drop this subject (for another year)



If you didn't read the post I linked to the other day about the Grammy's and why they have nothing to do with true talent - you really should read it. It's FUNNY, its called "The 7 Most Unforgivable Grammy Award Snubs of All Time". I'd like to add this years snub to Bruce to the list.

Bruce one 3 out of 4 of the nominations he was up for.

Congrats, Bruce.

BUT...

I am bitter - not because of what he won but for what he was not even nominated for, he deserved to be considered in these categories and the dissed him. What a joke.

U23D = Perfect

Just got home from being on stage with Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam. It was INSANE. I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm for U2, so you can stop reading here if that's the case.

Bono.

What can I say about him other than there is no one like him. He has passion for what he believes and delivers the message with brilliance, heart, soul and rock and roll. Since I share his views on life and I love rock music, what could be better?

Having him stand a foot away from me and reach out into the audience was as close as I will probably ever get to him, and that's fine with me. I can admire him from afar, and I do. He reminds me that there is hope for this f'd up world we live in.

It was amazing to see them so close, to watch The Edge play and see the ridges of his fingernails - that's how clear and detailed this 3D technology was.

And when Larry looked up straight into my eyes - wow. He's so....beautifully male. Damn.



It was a great experience. I give it an A. The only thing better is seeing them live!

I received this DVD to review and will be viewing it this weekend. I know it will be an emotional experience for me.

Live Review of Tom Petty at Halftime

I like Tom. In fact back in the day when I was in a band we covered every single song on his first album.



I've seen him in concert a few times over the years and he seems to have a good time performing live and sounds good. I think he's probably a great guy in his "real life" and I love the fact that The Heartbreakers have stuck together.

But....

This performance that I am watching right now is....dull. So far. He just started "Free Falling" since its a slower song, maybe it will come off better than American Girl and the other one he played (I can't even remember what it was...and it was only a few seconds ago).

My personal opinion, and this is nothing against TP, he was a poor choice for the halftime. They needed someone a little more exciting. Sorry, Tom.
