Paul over at Rock Revival has a question going around...he asked us to list our top ten favorite albums that would not be considered rock. If you'd like to share - please do! I would be curious to see what some of you have in that closet that I may want to borrow :)
Mine were:
1. Motown:
Marvin Gaye - Let's Get it On.
2. Jazz:
Jamiroqua, High Times Singles
3. Oldies:
Tommy James & The Shondelles, Crimson & Clover
4. R&B Soul:
India Arie, Accoustc Soul
5. India Arie, Testimony
6. CCM
Nichole Nordeman, Brave
7. Soul:
Joss Stone, The Soul Sessions
8. Genre?
John Butler Trio, Sunrise Over See
9. Genre?
Johnny Lang, all of his!
10. Pop
Train, Drops of Jupiter
Since most of my collection would be considered "non-rock", it would be hard to narrow down a list to 10. From your list, I have "Acoustic Soul". A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to meet India.Arie when she came to the office where I work. She performed and signed copies of her CDs.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check some of those out! Just to let you know...Train...Drops of Jupiter is one of my faves too. :)
ReplyDeleteI played too. I could do this all day! I had to list bonus albums.
