Second thoughts on Roger Waters...

I am struggling over this decision. I bought 2 tickets to see Roger this summer, paid $300. Don't have anyone to go with. So, it was either invite someone and pay for both or sell one and go alone.

Then I decided to just not go and sell them both. I have a buyer...but do I really want to miss this show? Surely I can find someone to go with me. I do have friends, just not the kind with good taste in music. UGH! Why don't any of you live close by!?!?

I need to decide soon. What should I do?

The same thing happened to me back in 1990, when I had tix to see Clapton in Greensboro. I ended up going by myself and having a good time. So should you..

  3. I've been to a concert by myself and it wasn't bad at all. In fact it was a lot of fun. I know what ya mean when it's hard to find people with a good taste in music, it's a shame... I say go, he put on an exciting show. Plus how many times are you going to see "Dark Side of the Moon" live in your life?

  4. I saw Pink Floyd in 1994 and Rager Waters in 1997 or 98. While Floyd was just a bloated light show that was so clean they may as well have just played the CD along to the lasers, Roger Waters was amazing. It was the most enaging arena-sized show I've ever seen. I don't even like Roger Waters (I don't like the last few Floyd albums he dominated nor do I like his solo stuff), but his show was amazing. That being said, I wouldn't pay $150 a ticket for anything! I have a real problem with expensive tickets, because rock n roll should for everyone, not just people who can afford it. I know venues and promoters have as much if not more to do with this than artists, but even so we have to put our foot down. I made a decision some time ago that I wouldn't pay outrageous ticket prices.
