Depressed

Sorry I haven't given attention to this blog lately but I just can't seem to shake the BLUES.

So here is something simple to keep my mind occupied and hopefully engage yours as well.

Help me list songs that have the word BLUE in the title. Oh, what the hell, lets just do one each of all the basic colors. No fair looking them up - this is brain power only! That means I get to start and do all the easy ones!

Blue Jean, by David Bowie
Paint it Black, by The Stones
Red, by Sammy Hagar
Green, I can't think of one!
Yellow Submarine,
by The Beatles
Brown Sugar, by the Stones
White Room, by Cream
Purple Haze, by Jimi Hendrix
Orange, (does Tangerine by Zeppelin count? I guess not huh?)

8 comments:

  1. Blue, by David Gilmour
    Black Velvet, by Pat Benetar
    Red House, by Jimi Hendrix
    Green Day, by Green Day
    Yellow Sun, by The Raconteurs
Ballad of Hollis Brown, by Bob Dylan
Guilty of Being White, by Minor Threat
Can’t think of any other Purples besides Purple Haze
I’m also blanking on anything for Orange

Wow, it’s pretty tough to come up with these.

  3. Believe it or not this is all off the top of my head (at least the songs are, on a couple I did have to look up who the artist was):

Behind Blue Eyes by The Who
Suite Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby Stills & Nash
Blue Never Looked Good On You by Bertie Higgins
    Summertime Blues by Eddie Cochran
Devil With the Blue Dress On by Mitch Ryder
    Suite Madame Blue by Styx
    South California Purples by Chicago
Lady in Red by Chris DeBurgh
Bad Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce
Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum
    White Wedding by Billy Idol

And although they're not colour specific, how about-- Fancy Colours and/or Colour My World both by Chicago (and both songs are from their 2nd album).

  5. Jeff, those are good ones. What about Purple Rain by Prince????? Lets add that one.

RAHIME! I didn't know you ever read over here, its good to see you. Great additions to the list!!

Guys, this is my friend Rahime (a very beautiful but married young lady). Her name is pronounced Ruh-may. It's a beautiful name.

Perplex, why does it not suprise me at all that you had all these to add? :)

  6. Colors of the rainbow...

    I Saw Red, Warrant
    Orange Crush, REM
    Mellow Yellow, Donovan
    Green Disease, Pearl Jam
    My Blue Heaven, Fats Domino
Mood Indigo (no idea of the original artist - some old jazz dude)
    Violet and Blue, Stevie Nicks

Stevie actually has a handful of "colorful songs" (Fleetwood Mac included):

    Gold Dust Woman
    Gold and Braid
    Blue Denim
    Blue Lamp
    Silver Springs

    Peach, Prince
    Pink, Aerosmith
    Pink Houses, John Cougar Mellencamp

I thought of a bunch more "blue"s (not counting any number of blues songs!):

Child of the Wild Blue Yonder, John Hiatt
    Blue Telescope, John Hiatt
    Electric Blue, Icehouse

Bad Luck Blue Eyes, Black Crowes

    The trifecta:
