This comes as no surprise:

According to Billboard Boxscore, U2 had the top-grossing tour of 2005
drawing more than 3 million people to 90 concerts (all sell-outs) and
grossing $260 million. The Rolling Stones came in second grossing
$162 million on 42 North American shows with a second leg starting on
Jan. 10th.

    but for gay audiences - you still can't beat Cher.
